EDC commences drilling in Pyakyakhinskoe Field of YaNAO

MOSCOW, April 6, 2009 -  Western Siberia Branch of BKE, an onshore drilling services division of Eurasia Drilling Company Limited (“EDC” or the “Company” - LSE: EDCL) commenced drilling operations on the first production well in Pyakyakhinskoe Field of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous region in Russia in early April 2009 for TPP Yamalneftegaz-OOO LUKOIL Zapadnaya Sibir.

Drilling is performed using Uralmash BU 3D drilling rig. Shortly BKE will commence rigging-up a  250 metric tonne Bentec HR4500 rig and a new 320 tonne SINOPEC ZJ50DB–ST drilling rig in the same field.

In 2009 BKE plans to drill over 20 000 meters of rock in Pyakyakhinskoe Field.
