Jack-up rigs

We own the largest fleet of jack-up drilling rigs in the sectors of the Caspian Sea where we operate.

We operate in culturally diverse environments, strictly following best internationally practices. We have drilled in the Russian, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan sectors of the Caspian Sea for LUKOIL, PETRONAS, Dragon OIl, Shell, ConocoPhillips and others. Our rigs have been specifically designed to meet strict "zero discharge" environmental protection requirements.

The ASTRA jack-up rig was acquired in 2006 from LUKOIL and has been deployed in Russian, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan sectors of the Caspian sea. In mid-August 2020, the "Astra" Jack-Up Rig completed drilling a shallow-water well in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea for LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft and moved to the port of Makhachkala for stacking.

The SATURN jack-up rig was acquired in 2011 from TRANSOCEAN. After rig maintenance in Azerbaijan, SATURN is currently under contract with Dragon Oil in the Turkmenistan sector of the Caspian Sea.

The NEPTUNE  jack-up rig built in Sharjah, assembled and commissioned in Astrakhan commenced drilling in 2014 in Turkmenistan sector of the Caspian sea. NEPTUNE is operating in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea since May 2016,

The MERCURY jack-up underwent final commissioning in November 2014 and mobilised to the Turkmenistan waters of the Caspian Sea under a contract with Dragon Oil.  MERCURY returned from Turkmenistan in 2020 and has been operating in Russia from mid-2020 to early 2021.
